Fred Petryk started Greg’s Manufacturing Limited in 1934 out of Cranberry Portage, Manitoba — a small sawmill providing good lumber to whoever needed it. Everything was done by hand back then. As the orders picked up, machines came in to keep up.
The principles didn’t move. Build it right. Treat people fair. After Fred, the business became Petryk Forest Products under his wife Anne and sons Michael and Rick, modernizing operations and growing the client base across residential, industrial, and mining work — peaking at 30 employees and supplying lumber across the north.
The third generation is running things now. Same standards Fred set. Faster turnaround.
